Alps Snowshoe expedition

Explore the raw beauty of the Alps during winter.

Travel through pristine snowfields, learn new survival skills and navigate the landscape. At night, we sleep in the most cozy homemade snow caves, tents or wilderness cabins.

Our snowshoe adventure starts when you are dropped into the snow with only the bare essentials. Suddenly we are in an unknown location. As part of the Escape The Alps adventure, you must find your way back to the civilization. "Improvise, adapt and overcome."

To trek across the snowfields, we will have to work together. We will only have with us the basics for survival, snowshoes to step across the snow, we will sleep in wilderness huts, and the more daring can venture into a tent or a cozy snow cave overnight. We don't just show you how to survive in harsh winter conditions, we let you experience it.

A good night’s rest is important, and that’s why we stay at places that support our adventurous journey. We will welcome you in a luxurious hotel before we start our adventure.

To find your way back towards the civilization, we will teach you to navigate by compass. You will then be able to practice and experience this for yourself.

After our adventure we have all the comforts we need, we are spoiled with food, drinks and daily luxuries

Walking on snow has been happening for centuries thanks to snowshoes. On this experience you will learn to trek independently with snowshoes. What is possible, but especially what to watch out for.

Before we embark on this journey, we'll make sure you have all the tools and knowledge you need to fully experience this Get Out There adventure:

  • Introduction to the equipment

  • Introduction to your group before departure

  • Personal point of contact for all your questions

Itinerary

Our trip will start at an unknown and remote location in the Alps. Between 7 and 10 hours drive from Brussels.
The day before you leave, you will receive the coordinates of our meeting place. This is how we keep our location a secret.

Day 1 - Arrival at a hotel in the Alps

We meet each other in the evening at a hotel somewhere in between the mountains of the Alps. Our first hotel allows for a thorough final check up of the backpacks. That way everyone is sure not to have anything too much or too little with them!

*There is a transportation option where you ride along with our expedition bus.

Day 2

The first day in nature we begin with a thorough getting-to-know-you session. Not only with each other but mainly with the winter conditions. You will soon be able to handle the snow independently. And the cold environment will not cool you down anymore.

Day 3 - 4 - 5 - 6

Throughout this true wilderness trek we will spend the night in tents, in wilderness huts and in homemade snow caves or igloos. To drink we will have to melt snow into water. To eat we will advise you in advance what is best to provide for yourself.

*We also offer a quality food package which includes breakfast, plenty of snacks and evening meals (veggie & vegan possible).

On our last day, we return to civilization. Warmth, a shower, good food and drink. Together, we close off our adventure with a nice and cozy moment at the diner table.

Day 7

After a good night's sleep and hearty breakfast, it's time to return back home.
